Dear PAA Members:
For those of you who were unable to attend
our lovely Membership Tea last week, we would like to bring
you up to date on the business meeting. Following a robust
discussion on joining with the Allied Arts Guild, the following
motion was presented:

-
The Board moves that PAA disband and give up its Federal Income tax exemption under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and under Section 23701d of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California.

-
The motion passed with only one “no” vote and one “abstention”.

-
We are all invited to join Allied Arts Guild for 2023. In November you will receive a dues letter with notes from both the PAA Chairwomen and the Allied Arts Guild President.

-
Dues: $75 per year — used for operating expenses, honorariums, & memorials
-
$100 donation — used for Association of Auxiliaries Special Project of the Year
-
Three categories of members:
-
ACTIVE MEMBER: Pay dues, give $100 donation, may vote, serve on Board, and work 60 hours per year;
-
SUSTAINING MEMBER: After five years, pay dues but not expected to give $100. No voting, serving on Board, or required work;
-
HONORARY MEMBER: After 50 years, no dues or $100 donation required, but always invited.
PAA members will be recognized for their years served, and can enter at any category.

MORE Exciting News to Share! (posted previously...)
Dear PAA Members:
Back in early May 2022, you were notified that our Auxiliary was suffering from a lack of volunteers to fill the roles required to keep it alive. We suggested joining with Allied Arts Auxiliary as
an alternative so that some of our cherished projects would continue as part of their/our new organization.
We asked you for any suggestions and comments.
It was encouraging that 99% of the responses were in favor of our joining with Allied Arts in order to have an opportunity to continue contributing and supporting the Children’s Hospital. June and Ellen have had several meetings with the staff of Allied Arts and with Jeanne Berube to determine the best transition option.
We found that a merger would be very expensive and involve expensive legal assistance. The most efficient and least expensive option was to simply dissolve our Auxiliary and have our members join Allied Arts Auxiliary.
Allied Arts have been extremely welcoming and anxious to have us become part of their Auxiliary. We think this will be a positive move for all concerned.
The Board met on September 22, 2022 and voted to approve the dissolution of our Auxiliary and recommend current members join Allied Arts as of January 1, 2023.
This resolution will be recommended by the Board to the membership at our:
Annual Membership Tea
October 12, 2022. 2 'til 4
969 Matadero Avenue
Palo Alto, CA 94022
We will discuss and vote on the resolution. By law, we must have a quorum of members in good standing support the resolution. We look forward to seeing all of you at the tea. Come and help us make this important decision to continue the vital work for the Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. This will be our time to honor all of our members, current and past for the wonderful work we have done for 90 years.
If you have questions please contact either of us.
